Enchanted with Enchanted Kingdom

It has been almost 2 years that I have waited for this day. Funny how I lived in Laguna for those times and yet, I haven’t been to Enchanted Kingdom. People from across the country had actually pay plane tickets just to get here and I was like 30 mins away via jeepney+tricycle from the place.

Well, I really love to go there. I had several plans but never push trough. I was just waiting for the right company to push through the adventure. And today, I got one! Cheers to Ardee Mae, I was able to experience a very enchanting day at Enchanted Kingdom ( E.K.)!

Enhcnated Kingdom is located at Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Here are the details how we get there.

Starting from Crossing, Calamba terminal, we ride on a jeepney via Paseo, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The fare is Php 30.00. This will pass via SLEX. So I suggest to ride from here to avoid the heavy traffic. You can take other routes via National Highway, fare is Php 23.00 but would take more hours of travel due to traffic jam.

After we arrived at Paseo terminal, we had few steps to the National Highway to ride a tricycle to send us to Waltermart, kanto papuntang Enchanted Kingdom ( Fare: Php 16.00) . NOTE: don’t take special rides from Paseo Terminal, it cost you Php 150 from there to Enchanted Kingdom.

Then, when you get to Waltermart, on the right side facing the mall, you can find the tricycle on queue to send you to E.K. , fare is Php. 36.00 per ride. So you can divide the fare among your group.

The front parking is wide, and could accommodate a lot of family vehicles.
The front parking is wide, and could accommodate a lot of family vehicles.

As you approached the entrance, you can see a life size statue of th E. K. Wizard. It’s a good spot to take photos. There are several gates on the entrance and there staffs going around to assist you with buying tickets, there are promos available there. Too bad I forgot to bring my School ID, students have discounts there.

For regular visitors – Php 600.00
For Juniors – Php 320.00
Students, seniors, pregnant women -20% Discount
*Groups has a special lane also. I think they’re giving discounts as well.

NOTE: Food is strictly not allowed inside. So you better keep it on your car or, make a good camouflage inside your bag or pockets so they won’t notice when checking upon the entrance gate.

When you get inside, ask for a map so you can track all the ride locations. We arrived there 11 am and already had our lunch at McDonalds, Waltermart.

We had our first stop at the Grand Carousel! It was my first time to ride in a carousel. It was a huge one so it can accommodate adults. And I really really enjoyed it!!

Grand Carousel

Next ride is the Roller Skate. Is like a mini roller coaster ride. It was a good warm up ride before going to extreme ones.

EKstreme Ride

After that breath-taking ride, we were ready to get crazy with EKstreme. It is a sudden drop ride from a very tall tower. While watching the ones getting ready for the ride, it felt really normal. Infact most of the waiting audience are laughing at those funny reaction before and after the ride. We all laugh at those who scares most even before it started. You could really see them screaming out loud as they were lift upward. And we all find it really funny. But, when turn comes next, you feel like throwing up as you get higher and higher. Well, you kinda enjoy the bird’s eye view. But when that click as a starting warn to drop sounds, that’s the time you will definitely  hold on your grip like its the last day of your life. Literally its breath taking. You became blank. You cannot even shout. At the moment when you reach down, you really get shocked. Gosh! I told myself not to do it again. Yes, definitely. So if you had a weak heart, high blood pressure, or phobias on heights, its dangerous to try.

From that very extreme experience, we challenged ourselves to get into the most extreme ride EK has – The Space Shuttle!

AT the entrance of the Space Shuttle

At first, Ardee was hesitant to do it. It really sounds scary specially when you’re in line, ’cause you can hear that roaring sound on the ride at gone crazy on air, rolling your brains. It’s really scary. You can feel your nerves, but when you look at it positively, the ride is actually very very fun and exciting! Congratulations to us! we made it from that monstrous ride.

After the ride.
After the ride.

Sorry the shot was from the back. But definitely He is JK.

When we got to the exit, we came across Juan Karlos, The Voice Season1 grand finalist. He was there too the wholeday, enjoying his VIP passes 🙂

The ride was hell scary, especially that backwards rolling, geez! You are like being dragged down in a twirling tunnel rapidly I couldn’t even remember if I was breathing the whole time, but it I would definitely try it again. That experience was really insane. Ardee was closing her eyes from the start, like literally. She looks funny, she was so scared but she did it! She was just screaming the whole ride. It helps! Whenever your riding with extreme coasters, screaming helps you get rid of throwing up.

It was few minutes passed 2 pm, perfect for Rio Grande ride. They open at 2 pm. Excitedly, we headed down there. This was the most fun ride for any ages. But, you must be the luckiest person to get out from it without a soaking wet pants and tees. Well, we were too confident to think we’re lucky enough, so we’re on it. And funny it is, I was wet all over. During the ride we cane accross a falls, and it poured me lots all over my body. There’s nothing I can do to move the circle thing we are riding since it just depends on the current. I never thought that huge splash from beginning, that already wet my shorts, was not the final wave yet.

After the ride

So we roam around EK wet. Well, that’s fine though, there’s lots like us walking wet on a sunny afternoon. Others are even more worst than me.

After few minutes of rest whiles trying to dry up some liquid, we stumbled on this perfect street. Where you feel like you are on some old streets of United States.

We wandered down the street and found a long line heading to the 4D Rio Movie Cinema.

The sun  was up so we thought falling in line isn’t much a good idea at the moment, so we had some walk west north of EK, and found lovely giant swans swimming on a man made lake.

Swan Lake

I’m not talking about live giant swan here. They’re like aqua boats in swan designs. And we hurried to fall in line. It really looked so fun and relaxing, perfect for spending more time to dry up our clothes. However, when we get there, there were a lot of kiddos on the line already. It will not be a disaster though if there were time limit on riding the swans. And because most riders are kids and a guardian, tendency they move too slow and they took too much time ridding around since the kiddos are enjoying it much. Sadly, it took us almost an hour waiting for our turn. So we plan just to try it on for few minutes and hop in to other rides. This ride is quite good actualy, but the system is a thumbs DOWN.

We passed on a Jungle Log Jam on the West most of the place but seeing how it works I think it was just a combination of a little Rio Grande plus a little of Shuttle Space. It’s a roller coaster with splashing water. It could have been fun, but we thought its another waste of time hahaha!

So we looked for a more challenging ride… and so we found the Anchor’s Way! Indeed a very fun and scary ride as well. It was worth the very long line on queue. We didn’t took our captured photos since we looked dead funny right there.

The night is comming so we tried to look for something funny and relaxing to do. And eventually we found ourselves inside the 4D Theater – RIO .

Inside the 4D Cinema

This is something that every visitor of EK should experience. This is for all ages, everybody will really love it here. The 3D experience had left us so much stories to tell. We repeatedly talked about our experience inside after the movie. Sooo much bloopers from Ardee. 😀

The laugh hang over from RIO 4D made us hungry a bit so we tried to find something to eat. After that simple dinner, we walked in to the nearest ride, which is this : (oops sorry I forgot the name)

Perfect tp ride here arpund 6-7 pm

That ride was really perfect for and after meal activity. No bumpy or scream-filled moments. It feels like beside a seashore with continuous cool wind. It was already dark that time so the air was more cooler.

We thought that was the ride we can get. But luckily, it was a launching of EK’s GIant Christmas Lantern, so they extended an hour for everyone to enjoy the rides. And that was a great blessing for us to try their huge Ferris Wheel. The view from the top was just perfect. The lights around Sta. Rosa are amazingly visible. Unluckily, we ran out of battery so we’re not able to take some breathtaking bird’s-eye view. But we got an ant-eye view earlier of the day:

Enchnted Kingdom’s Wheel  of Fortune

After that ride, we walked accross the Builderville where you can find little rides for juniors. We sat on some bench there popping our french fries. We thought that will be the last thing to do on EK, when we heard a lot of laughing from the side…it was a BUMP CAR.

It was the best actovoty to end our day. We had so much fun. Their cars run wild which really add much difficulty that actually made it really more fun.

Sooner the Encanted Kingdom will be closed. So, we headed the exit right away. We looked for a tricycle to ride us towards Target Mall. From there we took a jeepney heading Calamba, Laguna. That was already half pass the hour of 11PM. Good thing that there were still a lot of jeepneys we can ride back home.

Our feet might felt swollen from an exhausting foot activities, but it was definotely worth it. Go get your tickets now! Bring along a whole family to enjoy the place. It will be one of the best family day, for sure. Thanks for reading! Catch up more photos below from inside Enchanted Kingdom, Calamba Laguna:

PALAWAN Island Hop: From Honda Bay to Cowrie, to Luli, to Snake, to Bat Island

Palawan has  been one of the country’s most tourist destination. The various spots they have, appeared to be so igniting for most. And I am not an exception. I, along with my SFC bros & sissies during the 2015 CFC-SFC International Conference in Palawan, have tried Island hopping.

Starting point for Island hops in Palawan is the HONDA BAY. Rented boats piled up there as their living. At Honda bay, you will register your names one by one and chose different routes for your Island Hopping. C360_2015-09-03-21-02-08-898During summer, ranging from April-May, Honda Bay is visited by humongous whales, locally called “Balyena”. Unfortunately,  it was February, so we got no whales-sight-seeing.

C360_2015-09-03-21-02-42-187You can choose a lot of bigger Islands as stop overs. Some even offers an over night stay. At the reception you will see a huge tarp for Islands across Palawan.

Before digging in to our super enjoyable adventure, let me show you some tips when getting there:

  1. Bring with you your jaw-dropping SWIM WEAR. When crossing around islands, you will have stop overs on some resorts. You will definitely love the waters…the white sand.. the tempting, that you can’t afford not to splurge yourself into the water.

This isn’t jaw dropping, i dont wear jaw dropping two-piece..but you can 😉
  2. Don’t bring too much BAGGAGE. Keep in mind that you are stopping from one island to another. You’ll be carrying all your stuff with you every time.

A petite bag is enough for a joy ride.
A petite bag is enough for a joy ride.
  3. Of course, Cameras up the whole time. There are a lot of beautiful scenes althroughout the journey. So don’t ever ever forget cameras for your groufie!

Groufie. On our way to Cowrie Island

  4.  Safety First.  Keep the journey always safe. Knock on wood, anything can happen in between, hence it is more important to keep safety precautions at all times.

    Consider safety at all times
    Consider safety at all times
  5.  And most importantly, be early. The Philippine Coast Guard there doesn’t allow tour beyond 1pm.

    Palawan Coast Guard
    Palawan Coast Guard

So much for those simple tips, let me show you the Ws of our adventure.

WHO I was with? The beautiful and handsome bros and sis from CFC-SFC Davao.

WHEN did I planned to travel here? This is actually a side trip after  our CFC-SFC International Conference held at Palawan Colisuem. We stayed there Friday eve to Monday morn. I actually booked the flight 9 months before the event. Too excited eh? Not really, I was opt for the Piso-Fare from Cebu Pacific Air. So lucky to pay only 1500 pesos for a two-way flight. It was a two-strike-answered-prayers; Palawan and ICON.

WHERE  did you hopped-and-stopped from Honday Bay? We first stopped at Cowrie Island. After that we came accros the Luli Island. Thereafter, we visited a turtle cottage,  and passed by the Snake Islet. I wasn’t sure about the Bat Island, I did not notice it but they said we have passed through it.

Lastly,  WHAT happened during the entire trip? This is such an interesting W of all. Let me start it with a nerve-wracking news just as we arrive from the dock at Honda Bay.

Hearing this,  we were stunned at our feet with our grips tightly on our ideals – swimming on the beautiful waters of Palawan. It was already passed the limit hour, almost 3 pm. Our hopes just died the second we were told about the regulation.

A staff would not want to issue us tickets since the Coast Guard would not allow any trip beyond the given time deadline. Who would’ve known, we were all not local residents.

We flew all the way from Davao, and me from Laguna just to be there. So  when our senses were gained, and our courage had gathered we rushed to the Coast Guard on duty and pleaded desperately .FB_IMG_1441121288586 Thanks to that macho one. He granted our plea. And so we rushed to the boats, before the permission could change.

While waiting for our boat patiently, we have discussed with the staff that we can not visit  all the islands since we have a short period to travel. FB_IMG_1441121457856It was prohibited to travel when night falls. So we chose Cowrie Island as a stop over and passed along other islands nearby.  Too excited for the trip, I was the first to step dauntlessly  towards the boat we  will be riding. That  very step of so much happiness that we were spared from that prohibitions. Just as we were settled, we wore our life jackets for safety precautions. FB_IMG_1441121499413The excitement was superb. And the gratitude was overflowing. THANK GOD,  He let us travel.  And so we embarked hearts ready!

It was quite a long ride going to the nearest Island – Cowrie, from Honda bay. Patiently, we waited until we finally got to see the resort from distant. Even  at far, the resort was so welcoming. The sand aren’t pebbly. The surrounding was clean. And the water – was crystal green. The color might be caused by the yellowish shade of white sand. There are no big waves at all. No jelly fish. The water was just so irresistable.C360_2015-09-03-20-57-26-353

Too excited, I hurried down and run towards the Cowrie welcome signboard. And we took a lot of pictures from there. FB_IMG_1441122304012FB_IMG_1441122262921

I remember the many times I tried floating using my sole refuge – life jacket! I enjoyed it so much! The sun wasn’t scorching hot. Just enough sunlight. The water was cold and calm. You can watch your foot under because of the clear water vision.

Kayak was also available for 100 pesos. One sister we were with, took a Free ride. She can’t swim due to her new rebonded hair so she pleaded kuya,  for a kayak ride. 🙂 Screenshot_2015-09-03-09-04-11_1

Other than Kayaking, Jetski is just around the corner. You can hop in easily and enjoy the vast space around Cowrie for 30 mins.  I forgot how much would cost to ride it, but as I remember it, it was expensive. Having no budget for a Jetski, we just hop in and pose for a picture-perfect selfie  🙂 .FB_IMG_1441122351685

Swimming at Cowrie was one most happiest days of my life. It was like eating my favorite Bulalo at Koorah-Koorah in Tagaytay .That feeling when you had so much satisfaction and it’s worth the price to pay for. Goofing around, we stumble and splurge like babies in the water. Screenshot_2015-09-03-09-00-27_1Well, every happy moments always has end, but it never stops. We headed back to our boat for a new adventure.  Second stop – Luli Island!

At first sight, Luli Island was small. It seems scattered. Only few cottages are there. But as we came closer, Luli was actually quite a huge space. Some parts are just under water. That time, the water level had raised and hid some parts of the Island. Hence it appeared a group of separate islets. Our tour guide had explained that the name was after it’s existence on low tide and inexistence on  high tide. “Lulubog-lilitaw ” as they call it. Hence the Island was named Luli. FB_IMG_1441122592061FB_IMG_1441122499040

After crossing Luli,  we came across a huge turtle inspired fisheries. We were not able to get nearer cause no one’s there to ask for permission of entry. It was believed to be a private property. The turtle hut was big and was an amazing work of art.C360_2015-09-03-20-06-07-209

It was quite a long ride before we reach the Snake Island. But it was never a dull moment together as we travel around the seas. We had a lot of groufies and selfies inside. And had seen a lot of views sooo pleasing to the eye. On the way, I was at the side part of the boat, the whole time.C360_2015-09-03-20-55-56-835 The cool breezy air pushing against my face was so refreshing. I have been in Laguna for quite a long period of time and I haven’t been back to seas for a while. Truly this trip had quenched my thirst for water adventures. Laguna was a good place to live in however you need to travel for 4 hours before you can reach the sea side of Southern Tagalog Region.

Before long, we finally reached the Snake Island. It was so called because of it’s snake figured land formation.

Snake Island by far.
Snake Island by far.

I was so curious Why it was called as such.  At the back of my mind, I was thinking of a blue lagoon surrounded by roughly grown Bakawan that has been a home of sea snakes. I was then too happy to see a beautiful Island with a unique shape. It doesn’t exactly look like a Snake from our point of vision since we viewed it horizontally.  Maybe by bird’s eye view, we will be able to see it more clearly that it was indeed a snake one Island.

The newly engaged couple at Snake Island.

The last one was Bat Island, where according to them, thousands and thousands of bats are hiding.  I did not notice that Island during the trip. Probably we just passed around it from a large distance. That’s why I didnt really recognize it. However you can check it out from our photos below if you could identify the Bat Island there. Check more images below for more of our enjoyable memoirs in Palawan.

On our way back, we were all in silence. Too sad to end the journey so soon. Some are taking pictures and bloopers discretely. Others are having a good “me time” just as me. But nothing sweeter for this couple who had a beautiful sleep together. It was a tiring day but its all worth it. We might have not gotten the chance to see other bigger Islands good for stop overs but thank God we still are able to make it despite the “RULE”. It was a beautiful and amazing gift from GOD…

Screenshot_2015-10-25-23-53-40Manila Ocean Park was located at 666, Behind Quirini Grandstand, Luneta Manila, Metro Manila. As the map shows, Manila Ocean Park is beside the Manila Bay. It  is the biggest state-of-the-art oceanarium in the Philippines, with thousands of varieties of water creatures. It is best for kids and child heart adults.

It was my first time to visit the place together with Jimmy. It wasn’t even planned. I was at Divisoria and he had an appointment somewhere in Kalaw, for his medical. We just meet at UN Station and had some heavy snacks. After a while, he was inviting me a walk at Luneta. From UN station, we walked through TM Kalaw, passed by Riizal Park then headed to Luneta.

After taking some pictures, Jimmy decided to Manila Ocean Park. We were excited about it, and we crossed the highway right infront of Luneta, and headed to Quirino Grandstand, then finally to the Manila Ocean Park. It was soo crowded with kids having a field trip.
FB_IMG_1441123710077After a long wait, we finally got our ticket and hurried inside the facility.

FB_IMG_1441123739187At the lobby, you can see souvenire stores and restaurants. We didnt have more time to explore the lobby so we hurried our way to the oceanarium. Even on the entrance, there were already interesting fishes welcoming you. It was my First time to see as large as that live and near.

As we move along, there were a lot of small species on separate aquariums. And we enjoyed so much taking pictures. Seeing various species i never thought i could see it live ang closer.

As you go deep into the tunnel. Fishes had also grown bigger abd bigger in sizes. From small, comes the medium in sizes.

As you go ahead, you will be directed to an amazing tunnel where you can see fishes swimming on top of you. It was so much fun. There are a lot of fishes that arent familiar and teey look really amazing.

It indeed feels like a child when you are there. You can see full smiles from the little ones. And you feel also their energy as they run around the corner as they tried to follow the fishes inside the huge aquarium.

After that, we proceed upstairs for a whole new adventure, the Trails to Antarctic. From the title itself, it sounds cool. But is was so much cooler when you see real penguins swimming imside a medium aquarium. And taht cooll view had turned to be freezing, as you enter their Antarctic room. It wasnt so big, and was full of ice. You can see ice smoke as you talk inside. Like you see on movies from winter areas.

FB_IMG_1441123977211The fun doesnt stop there as we still jave one more ticket to enjoy, the Musical Fountain Show. It was scheduled early evening so thlights will be more appreciated. The lne was so long. But it was worth the wait. It was breath-taking. There were lessons portryed. And the transition of water and music, air/smoke and fire.. it was all awesome! Unfortunately, i deleted tbe video. But is was very stunning. Perfect for a full relaxation. I really dream that i cod take my whole family and even the extended ones there. Trully a perfect gift for ny season.
